As for myself, I think Roger’s own words provide us with a clue as to why authoritarians of any stripe would want to silence a harmless ‘toon. For as Roger once astutely observed:
"A laugh can be a very powerful thing. Why, sometimes in life, it’s the only weapon we have."
And that is what they fear.
